- Apply strategies that foster trust, resilience, and psychological safety.
The Result:

Community Resiliency
Community Resiliency Model (CRM)
The Community Resiliency Model (CRM) is a biological model and a set of six wellness skills developed by the Trauma Resource Institute using the latest knowledge in neuroscience. Join Ellen to learn how the wellness skills help individuals recognize and regulate their stress responses. CRM supports emotional well-being while building resilience across diverse teams, organizations, and communities.
CRM has been rigorously studied and proven effective in reducing stress and preventing burnout. With research led by Emory School of Nursing and leading universities around the world, CRM offers a powerful, science-backed approach to building resilience. By mastering these skills, individuals and organizations can strengthen their ability to adapt, thrive, and recover in the face of life's inevitable challenges.
At The Conclusion of the Community Resiliency Workshop Participants Will Be Able To:
- Understand how the nervous system is capable of rallying when faced with challenges and then recharge after the challenge is over.
- Apply six specific strategies to bring down activation within the nervous system and help them focus on something other than the distress by activating other parts of the body to “reset” the nervous system.
- Discover and understand that building resilience is much like how we build muscle, over time and with repeated practice.

Child & Adolescent Focused Curriculum
Did you know when healthy connections are established between individuals, our Mind, Body, and Spirit are significantly impacted in positive ways?
Join Ellen to learn how connections can meet a fundamental human need, help us build resilience, and maintain a sense of well-being.
Connections Matter Georgia (CMG) is a collaboration between the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy and Prevent Child Abuse Georgia. The training curriculum is an evidence informed curriculum, developed using a robust body of literature by Dr. Linda Chamberlain and adapted for Georgia specific audiences. CMG is a training designed to engage community members in building caring connections to improve resiliency, prevent/mitigate childhood trauma, and understand how our interactions with others can support those who have experienced trauma.
A distinction from other curricula that focus on trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) is its emphasis on connections and how one nurturing relationship can move a person from pain to hope, and help maintain a strong sense of self. The workshop includes examples from national programs and best practices to build positive and healthy relationships.
The training is delivered by Certified Connections Matter Trainers and may be covered by a grant.
At The Conclusion of the Connections Matter Workshop, Participants Will Be Able To:
- Understand how trauma and toxic stress can disrupt healthy brain development in the absence of a caring relationship.
- Understand how trauma and toxic stress can impact a person’s health and well-being over the course of their life.
- Understand how research reinforces that positive interactions and experiences for children and families foster healthy development which extend to the larger community.
